Server move and upgrades

Posted on the 17th of June, 2010 - Permanent link

We’ve just completed some upgrades to Proxylicious which we know you’ll enjoy - all completed with minimal downtime.

New, faster and more powerful servers
Our main website is now running on our brand new server which will improve page load time and allow us to accommodate more people on the free trial before a busy message is shown. This ensures that you can get a better feel for our service before becoming a premium subscriber.

Our subscriber servers have also been upgraded and can accommodate many times our current customer base.

Cheaper subscriptions
Our longer-term subscriptions are now available at a lower cost:
  • Annual subscription – now 25% off, save $30.00 a year!
  • Bi-annual subscription – now 20% off, save $12.00 a year!
  • Quarterly subscription – now 15% off, save $4.50 a year!

More changes on the way!
We’re not done – we’ll be adding some more features to our service in the coming weeks which we’ll announce once implemented.

Questions or comments?
We’d love to hear from you! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any queries whatsoever.

Changes to the free trial proxy

Posted on the 24th of February, 2010 - Permanent link

If you’re a regular user of the free trial, you may notice that we’re experimenting with a new ad-supported model. Along with this, we’ve relaxed some of the restrictions we’ve placed on the free trial, such as increasing the page views per IP address per day.

Please note that our premium subscribers are not affected by this change, and will continue to be able to use the customer proxy servers without seeing any advertisements whatsoever.

The benefit of being a fan of Proxylicious on Facebook

Posted on the 31st of October, 2009 - Permanent link

You may notice that we’ve recently added a ‘become a fan’ Facebook button down the bottom of the right hand information panel of our website. As a thank you, we’ve started sending our fans tokens of our appreciation, this time in the form of a free month of premium subscriber access. If you don’t want to miss out next time, be sure to either click that button or visit our fan page for more information.

(If you don’t see the fan button, we’ve had to turn it off on the secure (https://) site as it was giving out insecure content messages in some web browsers – click here instead to be taken to the fan page!)

Welcome to the all-new Proxylicious!

Posted on the 22nd of October, 2009 - Permanent link

Welcome to the all-new Proxylicious! There have been tons of changes around here to make the website better, improvements to our services, and more.

Website
Our website, aside from the new design which gives us a bit more breathing room, brings a couple of new sections to the table. Firstly, we’ve created a Glossary to define some of the terminology that’s used around here. You’ll also notice a brand new Help section, which now has each topic on it’s own page, which makes it easier to browse and to reference.

You also have the ability to log into your account from any page of our website, which is a handy time saver.

To the right of the content, you’ll find the latest blog posts, top help topics, and in the future anything else that might be useful.

Web-based proxy
We’ve overhauled our web-based proxy. Our free trial has been tweaked – it now allows people to try it out more each day, however we have restricted the types of POST data that are allowed in order to minimise spam. Subscribers, of course, don’t have this limitation.

You’ll also notice some new options: remove images, limit caching, remove page titles, remove icon, and printer friendly mode. Some of these have been restricted to our premium subscribers, so if you’re not already a member, please subscribe now!

More additions include a persistent URL form, which will always be at the top of the pages you visit, making it quicker to type in URLs you’d like to visit without having to scroll up to the top of the page.

Subscribers will also notice that they now have the ability to save their preferences as to what options will be automatically selected when they use the web-based proxy. On the same topic, we’ve also created quick preset configurations for speed (minimal images and objects), privacy (disguises visited URLs and traces of browsing) and compatibility (view websites in their entirety while sacrificing speed and anonymity).

We’d love to hear from you!
We hope that you like the new changes, and if you have any comments at all, please go ahead and drop us a line.
